Practical guide · By 9real
Plan a month of useful social posts.
A practical 12-post planning grid for business social content, with source-material prompts, approval checks and a clearly labelled landscaping example.
Start with material your business already has.
Collect approved job photos, current service information and the questions customers repeatedly ask. One useful fact is a stronger starting point than filling a calendar with generic slogans.
For every post, record its purpose, source material, caption, graphic or image, approver, platform and planned date. Use the grid below as a starting point; change the mix to suit your business.
| Week | Post type | What to explain | Source material |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 01 · Service explained | One service you actually offer | Approved inclusions and a useful photo |
| 1 | 02 · Customer question | An answer customers ask for | A checked answer, without private customer details |
| 1 | 03 · Practical tip | One small step customers can take | Your real process or experience |
| 2 | 04 · Work example | A decision made on a real job | Photos and permission to share |
| 2 | 05 · How it works | What happens before work starts | The actual enquiry or preparation steps |
| 2 | 06 · Conversation | A useful question for your audience | A question you can respond to |
| 3 | 07 · Service detail | An inclusion or limitation | Current approved service facts |
| 3 | 08 · Customer question | How customers can prepare | A short practical checklist |
| 3 | 09 · Work explained | Why a particular approach suited a job | Approved notes or a clearly labelled demo |
| 4 | 10 · Business introduction | Who does the work and how to reach you | Accurate public business details |
| 4 | 11 · Useful reminder | A detail customers often overlook | Current information, with dates if relevant |
| 4 | 12 · Next step | When your service may be useful | A clear contact action and confirmed availability wording |
One courtyard becomes three useful posts.
Fictional landscaping demonstration, not client work or measured results. Imagine the owner supplies approved courtyard photos and explains why seating was placed in the centre with planting around the edges.
- Explain the design: show how the layout leaves space for a table and chairs.
- Share a practical tip: mark out seating and walking space before choosing garden beds.
- Invite a relevant response: ask whether the reader would prioritise seating, greenery or less upkeep.
These posts use the same starting material for different purposes. They do not require an invented customer testimonial, fabricated project or unsupported performance claim.
Make the approval step explicit.
- Check that images can be published and private details are removed.
- Confirm service facts, prices, dates and any customer commitments.
- Read the caption alongside the graphic; each should make sense together.
- Adapt the format and next step for each agreed platform.
- Publish only the approved version, then respond to relevant questions.
Review what was published, useful replies and attributable enquiries. Views and likes can provide context, but they do not establish sales.
